Topics include MIDD Menu of Treatment, Wrap-A-Round Services, JJ Assessment Team, support for parents, and how to advocate for a mentally-ill loved one within the System. Referendum 71 Debate
Referendum 71 Debate Wednesday, Oct. 14,7:30–9pm 1119 8th Ave, Seattle. Referendum 71 is a November ballot measure filed by opponents of same-sex partnerships. The event panel is still taking shape, but, considering the rancor around this issue, expect a balanced conversation including politicians, advocates and citizens from both sides of the issue. Advance tickets are $5 at Brown Paper Tickets or (800) 838-3006, and at the door beginning at 6:30pm.

Emergency Preparedness Fair
Emergency Preparedness Fair Tuesday, Oct. 20Meadowbrook Community Center10517 35th Ave NE, Seattle. The fair will feature a number of information booths as well as 9 skill-building workshops. There will be hands-on safety demonstrations for earthquake safety and how to store emergency supplies. The fair is also an opportunity to build a safety supply kit as you visit the different exhibitor tables. The fair runs from 10am-2pm. A free lunch will be provided from 11am-1pm.
